Runaway Island: A Hidden Gem for Seafood Lovers on Panama City Beach

First time here definitely won't be the last!! World class raw oysters would be an understatement. Service from Brie and the manager Carl was borderline breathtaking. This is a must visit when you get to P.C.B!! Prices were amazing and the kids loved it. Super chill vibe.

Excellent food! Highly recommend this place for the food and atmosphere. Right on the beach. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Wpuld have been a 5 star rating but as nice as the waitress was we ran out of drinks and had to wait to get refills.... will come back again when i pass this way again...

We went here for Valentine’s Day dinner, we actually called ahead and got a reservation for us, indoor. And when we got there, they tried to switch us to the outside. They eventually seated us upstairs inside. We ordered the oysters Rockefeller as an appetizer, they were delicious. Oysters were huge and very tasty! We also ordered from the Valentine’s Day menu the D Street Grouper and the Strip steak! Both were delicious and good size portion. The service actually could’ve been a little bit better, they weren’t as a tentative as they could have been, for a 20% tip. As a matter of fact, you never even got our servers name presented to us. They also add on some fee to the bill. She didn’t really come back by and say hello and check on us very much at all. Also, we ordered the oysters to come out as an appetizer, and they came out with the meal, which made things a little bit crowded and that just makes the food get cold. There was some live music, and the atmosphere is really cool in the bar area. If the weather was a little bit warmer, we would’ve sat outside no problem. Overall, we really like the place, and recommend it, and we would come back, just hope the service was a little bit better.

Awesome in every way! Best blackened chicken tacos I've ever had! Red beans and rice were wonderful and the atmosphere and location are unbeatable!! We'll be back before heading home from vacation!!

We went to Runaway Island on our fist night at PCB, mainly because it was within walking distance and it was a long travel day. We were seated at a booth on the beachside deck. The views were awesome as it was approaching time for the sun to set. Service was great. Our server (Ben) answered all our questions about the menu and checked on us several times throughout dinner. We even talked some football since it was Saturday. We started off with some cocktails (Runaway Rita and Mango Tango) and the Blue Crab Dip as an appetizer. All were delicious. For dinner I had the "Special" which was a blackened Mahi and grilled Shrimp served over a seasoned rice with a Mango Salsa and Plantains. The food was great. My only thought was that the fish was a bit over cooked. My wife had the Shrimp Tacos and was thrilled with them. We finished the evening with the WTH Punch after dinner If you come to PCB and love seafood, be sure to check out Runaway Island.

We had dinner here during our trip to Panama City Beach and had a really enjoyable experience overall. The ambience was excellent beautifully decorated with a cozy holiday feel, making it a great place to sit back, relax, and enjoy the evening. The atmosphere alone sets a very positive tone. We ordered popcorn shrimp with fries for our daughter. At first glance, I honestly thought it might be just average, but once our food arrived, that assumption quickly changed. The food was delicious. We tried the flounder topped with buttered shrimp and the blackened mahi-mahi tacos, and both dishes were packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. Even our daughter loved the food we ordered, which says a lot! The prices are on the higher side, as clearly mentioned on the menu, but the quality and taste of the food made it worth it. We also tried a couple of cocktails from the menu—those weren’t our favorite—but the food more than made up for it. Overall, this is definitely a place where families and groups can relax, enjoy great food, and soak in a wonderful atmosphere. We’d happily come back for the food again.

Best dinner I've had in a long time! My wife and I came to Runaway Island for the first time and everything was amazing. Our waitress Chenelle was outstanding! Polite & punctual. We had the spinach dip, chicken strips and fries, 12 oz new York striploin with asparagus and mashed potatoes, and warm brownie with ice cream dessert. Everything was amazing. I was on cloud nine eating my food. You could almost cut the steak with a fork! If you're ever in Panama City Beach. I highly recommend you check this place out!

I had the Mahi Mahi shrimp and grits. It was amazing! So delicious! Our waiter was Duncan and he was extremely nice and helpful. Beautiful sunset views. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant. Very happy with our experience there and look forward to going back!
